Brioche Knitting is a simple single- or multi-color technique that creates ridges and valleys similar to ribbing, but extra thick and squishy. The fabric created is reversible, making it perfect for scarves, shawls, and blankets for the cold months. In two classes, you will learn the technique of brioche on a sample swatch, then get started on a cowl using this technique. Once you practice, brioche will be as simple as ribbing. This class is for the advanced knitter who knows how to long-tail cast on, bind off, knit, purl, consistently work to gauge, knit in the round, and read pattern instructions. Materials needed: 225 yards worsted weight yarn (suggest superwash merino wool or equivalent for cowl), US Sz 6, 16" circular needle, US Sz 7 or 8 straight needles, Stitch Marker, and a Small amount of second color worsted weight from stash for 1st class sample. Class meets April 2 and April 9, 1-3pm. Class taught by Diane Jespersen.
