Patchwork Duffle Class - April 3rd
Join us on Thursday, April 3rd from 10am-3pm to make the Patchwork Duffle by Knot and Thread designs! This class is perfect for those wanting to enhance their bag making skills or someone who has never made a bag. Yes, really! Please bring your own sewing machine; however, if you own a lightweight model that struggles with multiple layers or zippers, we have floor models available for your convenience. Plus, enjoy a 10% discount on your pattern and bag materials when purchased at Off the Rails Quilting.
To ensure a smooth start, we ask that you have all your pieces pre-cut before the class begins. **This pattern requires quilting the main, soft & stable, and the lining together as you would a quilt. Your bag pieces are cut from this panel. You cannot make this bag without a quilted panel.
For an additional charge of $40, you can have your quilted bag panel longarmed by Hannah ahead of class time. This $40 is paid ahead of time. Your fabrics need to be at Off the Rails Quilting NO LATER than Thursday, March 27th, and you will pick your quilting design of choice with Hannah. Your panel will be quilted and ready to cut out your bag pieces.
Required Class Materials: Patchwork Duffle pattern (not the mini), 1 main exterior fabric, 1 yard lining, ½ yard accent fabric (for handles and binding), 1 FQ for bias binding inside the bag, 1 yard Soft and Stable (or your favorite batting), 1 30” zipper (or zipper by the yard- bring your package and we will cut in class), 3 5/8 yards of polypro strapping. (**You may also substitute as much 1.5” cotton webbing of your choice for the polypro strapping. Black and natural color webbing are available from Off the Rails Quilting by the yard.)
Helpful class materials: good sharp scissors, wonder clips, quilting pins, rotary cutter, polyester thread, extra needles.
